2026 Officer and Board Member Election Information

Nominations for offices and board members will take place at the November 2025 membership meeting (Tuesday, November 11, 2025.) If necessary, elections for contested offices and seats will be held at the December 2025 membership meeting (Tuesday, December 9, 2025.)

Descriptions of each office will be read at the meeting. If you want to view a written description, email Meg at megvunion@gmail.com.

Executive Board - 17 members

  • Officers: President, Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary

  • Nine (9) Bargaining Unit Vice Presidents: one VP is elected from each bargaining unit; City of Iowa City (one each for Mixed and Library), Iowa City Transit, Coralville Parks and Public Works, Coralville Transit, Johnson County Social Services, Johnson County SEATS, Johnson County Ambulance, City of Tiffin)

  • Three (3) At-Large Members: may be from any unit

  • Chief Steward: may be from any unit

Board of Trustees - Three (3) members, may be from any unit

  • One (1) one-year term

  • One (1) two-year term

  • One (1) three-year term

Appointive Offices (Appointed by President, confirmed by Executive Board)

  • Historian

  • Parliamentarian
