Stewards are leaders, advocates, and communicators helping to improve their workplace and strengthen our union. The prospect of becoming a steward may be intimidating, but it's not as challenging as you'd think and you are never alone! Union leadership and your fellow stewards are always there to help. Unions 101 is open to everyone in any of our bargaining units at Iowa City, Coralville, Tiffin, or Johnson County. It will be a short, interactive session where we’ll break down what a union is, what our local does, and how you can get involved. Whether you’re new, curious, or just want a refresher, this is a great way to learn your rights, meet fellow members, and build power together.
