Important Dates:
August 27th - First day you can request an absentee ballot in Iowa - make your request as early as possible!
October 16th - First day of in-person early voting. Early voting runs through Monday, November 4th. First day requested ballots can be mailed to voters
October 21st - Voter pre-registration deadline. If you need to register after this date, you will need to follow Election Day Registration procedures in order to vote in this election. Last day to request an absentee ballot. Your county auditor must have your Absentee Ballot Request Form in their office by 5 p.m.
November 4th - Last day of in-person early voting.
November 5th - Election Day! Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters must vote at their assigned polling place. Mailed absentee ballots (except military and overseas voters) must be received by 8 p.m.
